The rounded petals are three dimensional. Each petal separates into a smaller matte gold tone petal and a larger gold tone silhouette of that petal. They are separated into different levels giving the flowers a multi petal look. The flower center is a polished gold tone dome surrounded by 6 little petals. The brooch measures approximately 3 in diameter
